The birthplace of skiing in Greece
The National Ski Centre of Seli (EXKS), located on Mount Vermio in the Imathia Prefecture, holds a unique position in the history of Greek sports, as it is the country’s first organised ski centre.
It is situated at a distance of 24 km from Veria, 20 km from Naoussa, and 95 km from Thessaloniki. The ski centre extends across an altitude of 1,530 to 1,890 m, offering excellent snow conditions, clear horizons, and low humidity.
Seli features 17 pistes of varying difficulty levels, categorised into tourist and competitive runs, catering to the needs of both beginner and experienced skiers. Additionally, it offers two cross-country (Langlauf) trails for Nordic skiing enthusiasts. Access to the pistes is provided via 7 main lifts and 4 baby lifts, with a total capacity of up to 4,500 skiers per hour.
The experience at Seli is not limited to alpine skiing. The resort offers a range of activities and services, with organised ski and snowboard schools for all ages, as well as the option for full equipment rental. The lifts and pistes offer unique views towards the Imathia plain.
During the months without snow, the area transforms into a nature lover's paradise, as it is crossed by the E4 European long-distance path. During this time, you can enjoy mountaineering, hiking, and mountain biking, while the traditional settlement of Seli offers accommodation and local gastronomy.
