The Heart of Snowboarding on Pindus
The Vasilitsa ski centre offers breathtaking views of the Astraka, Gamila, and Smolikas mountains, as well as the Flegga lakes. Thanks to the Egnatia Odos motorway, it has become a premier destination, attracting avid skiers and snowboarding enthusiasts from all over Greece.
Infrastructure and Innovation
It has 8 lifts and 16 slopes, spanning a total of 16 kilometres. Here, you will discover Greece's longest piste (3,860m), while the illuminated Elimeia pistes offer the enchantment of night skiing amidst the Bosnian pines. The Tymfea piste is unique, boasting views of renowned Samarina. The permanent snowboard halfpipe is a point of reference. This is where the country's first jump contest was held. The presence of trees allows for skiing even in foggy conditions, seeing as they serve as reference points. Guests can also venture off-piste, exploring natural ramps, slalom courses between beech trees, and even try the unique snow rafting experience with inflatable boats on the slopes.
Accommodation and Activities
Accommodation options range from the centre’s modern chalet to Grevena, spanning a 45-kilometre zone. Traditional guesthouses and model hotels ensure high-quality hospitality and serve as a base for a range of activities. The area is ideal for hiking in the Valia Kalda National Park, rafting or hot dogging down the Venetikos River, as well as mountain biking, rock climbing, and jeep safaris.
The Gastronomic Experience
The experience is made complete with the pure local products of Grevena. The town, renowned as the land of mushrooms, beckons gourmands to discover rare flavours and traditional recipes that celebrate the richness of Greek nature. Vasilitsa perfectly combines athletic exhilaration with the serenity of the mountain landscape, offering a complete travel experience in the heart of the Pindus mountain range.
