An important museum of modern Greek art in the heart of Metsovo

The E. Averoff Gallery in Metsovo is a place where art, tradition and the mountain landscape coexist in a unique way. It was founded in 1988 by Evangelos Averoff-Tossizza and is housed in an impressive three-storey building, specially designed to accommodate its collection.
In the exhibition spaces you will admire around 200 works of painting, printmaking and sculpture, created by leading Greek artists of the 19th and 20th centuries, such as Gyzis, Lytras, Volanakis, Iakovidis, Parthenis and Moralis. The carefully curated permanent exhibition creates a cohesive narrative of high aesthetic quality, shedding light on defining moments in Greek artistic creation. 
The E. Averoff Gallery also hosts temporary exhibitions, thematic presentations and educational programmes that add vibrancy to the venue. It also features a library, a screening and conference room, as well as a shop with publications and art objects, offering a complete cultural environment.
