Thessaloniki Concert Hall

Thessaloniki Concert Hall

The modern cultural beacon of Macedonia

Thessaloniki Concert Hall is one of the most important cultural institutions of Northern Greece, in one of the most emblematic buildings of the city. Built in a privileged location on the waterfront, a few minutes from the centre of Thessaloniki, it was inaugurated in 2000 with Building M1 and expanded in 2010 with the state-of-the-art Building M2. Its design combines the grandeur of a European concert hall with elements that highlight the timeless aesthetics of the city.
The Concert Hall was created in order to function as a nucleus of musical education, artistic creation and cultural dialogue. The two large halls, with a capacity of over 2,000 seats in total, feature top acoustics and host high-level events: symphonic concerts, opera, ballet, international festivals, theatrical performances, conferences and educational programmes.
Building M1 bears the architectural signature of Vasilis Kouremenos, while M2 is designed by the Japanese architect Arata Isozaki. M2 has been characterized as one of the most impressive cultural buildings in the country because of its clean lines, glass volumes and the incorporation of natural light.
Since its foundation, Thessaloniki Concert Hall has been substantially enhancing the artistic identity of the city, attracting international artists and thousands of visitors every year. It is a point where the arts, education and contemporary creation meet, contributing decisively to the cultural upgrading of Macedonia.
Visit it and enjoy renowned chamber music ensembles, dance ensembles and big names of world classical music.
