Panagitsa

A mountain paradise in Pella

At an altitude of about 700 metres, Panagitsa at Pella stands out as one of the most charming mountain settlements of Central Macedonia. Surrounded by three artificial lakes and lush riparian vegetation, it combines the tranquility of the mountain with the beauty of the aquatic landscapes, creating a setting of rare natural harmony. At the foot of Mount Voras, it offers fresh air, dense forests, views of Lake Vegoritida and panoramic routes, where the mountain flora changes colours depending on the season and transforms the landscape.
In recent years, Panagitsa has evolved into an organised tourist destination, ideal for those who seek alternative activities in nature. From hiking on marked trails and cycling routes, to horseback riding, archery and outdoor games for all ages, the area offers a wealth of experiences for the whole family. Thanks to its short distance from the ski resort of Kaimaktsalan, it is an ideal base for your winter excursions.
One of the most photographed spots in the area are the artificial lakes that spread around the settlement. The lakes are not only a jewel of the area, but also a valuable resource for the local community, as their water irrigates the crops of the village. At the same time, a small hydroelectric plant is in operation, which energetically strengthens the local grid. Enjoy leisurely walks and explore trails that pass through lush banks and small, impressive waterfalls.
In the settlement there are traditional guesthouses, family tavernas and hospitable places that highlight the local gastronomy, making Panagitsa an ideal destination for relaxing holidays in nature. It is a place that offers authentic experiences, away from the crowds, with attractions and activities that renew body and spirit.
