Waterfalls of Tzoumerka

Water wonders and natural routes

At the waterfalls of Tzoumerka, the wild beauty of mountainous Greece meets the authentic serenity of Epirus. The landscape is characterised by dense forests, crystal-clear waters and a network of paths that offer exceptional experiences of exploration.
Near the picturesque village of Theodoriana, the famous waterfalls of Souda rise up amid dense vegetation and create a truly captivating scene. At a height of about 25 metres, the water plunges forcefully in two streams, creating a natural “curtain” that cools the area and offers a feeling of wellbeing, especially during the summer months. Access is easy via a short walk along a well-maintained path. To enjoy the landscape safely, observe always the required measures and, where needed, seek the company of a certified guide.
Equally impressive are the twin waterfalls in the village of Katarraktis, Arta, where their waters flow down the steep rocks of Tzoumerka. The natural environment remains unspoilt, while the path leading to them is walker-friendly.
Special mention should also be made of the distinctive waterfall in the stream of Marks, where nature creates successive small water levels, forming scenes reminiscent of a hidden paradise. The route retains a more adventurous character, but rewards visitors with its wonderful atmosphere, while remaining safe provided that the basic guidelines are followed.
The waterfalls of Tzoumerka are an ideal destination for families, couples and groups wishing for an authentic experience in nature. Discover them and find yourselves in one of the most welcoming and enchanting watery treasures of Greece.
