Since March 2011 the Capitol building houses the Hellenic Motor Museum in a 5.000 square metre area at 3rd Septemvriou, Ioulianou and Patission Sts. Three storeys of car history lie before you dating back to Karl Benz’s time in the late 19th century until today. There is an exhibition area, a 200 seat auditorium featuring 3D cinema technology, a simulator, a room for teaching road safety to children, a hall reserved for various events, a café and a gift shop.
Walk up the spiral ramp and get to know the history of the wheel all the way up to the 4th floor. The exhibition entrance is located there. You will see old models of renowned car makes that don’t exist anymore as well as others still active today. Feast your eyes on Paul Newman’s Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, Robert Plant’s 1959 Chrysler Ιmperial and the 1979 Cadillac Seville – its interior having been exclusively designed by Gucci.
Car lovers will find nice souvenirs in the museum shop!
