The island of contrasts in the North Aegean
Chios, the beautiful island of mastic, is not a one-dimensional destination. Its beaches reflect its character: some wild and imposing, others serene and hospitable, with the landscape alternating between pebbles, sand, dark volcanic rocks and blue waters.
In Emporios, Mavra Volia is one of the most characteristic beaches of the island. The black, shiny pebble of volcanic origin contrasts sharply with the deep, clear waters. The beach is serviced, with easy access and infrastructure, without losing its special geological character.
Near Vrontados, you will find Daskalopetra. According to tradition, Homer taught here. Pebbles and stone, clear waters and unobstructed views of the Aegean Sea compose a unique landscape. It is serviced and suitable for short getaways near the city.
A few kilometers from the city of Chios, Karfas is one of the most popular and family beaches of the island. With a sandy coast and shallow waters, it is an ideal choice if you seek comfort and activities by the sea. The beach is serviced, with hotels, tavernas and water sports.
In the southern part of the island there is another long sandy beach, Komi. Its waters deepen smoothly, while there are beach bars and dining areas on the coast.
Agia Fotia combines white pebbles, crystal clear waters and tranquil surroundings. Although serviced, it retains a more relaxed character, ideal for those who seek places without crowds, with easy access and snorkelling.
