Animasyros, one of the largest international animation festivals in Europe, holds a special place in the island's cultural calendar. Every September, creators, students, producers, and animation fans meet on Syros for screenings, competition sections, workshops, and presentations. The festival takes place across various venues of the city, from Apollon Theatre to Pallas Cinema and Miaouli Square for open-air screenings, giving the island a dynamic, international character.
