Preparing the Revani
In a large bowl, add the yoghurt and cover it with the sugar. Next, add the semolina and finally the flour. Mix the ingredients by hand; once the mixture is homogenous, add the eggs.
Dissolve the bicarbonate of soda in a tiny amount of water, add it to the mixture, and beat vigorously by hand for 2 minutes.
Grease a 30x40 cm baking tray with fresh butter, pour in the mixture, and bake at 200°C for approximately 35 minutes using the top and bottom heating elements (do not use the fan setting).
Allow the cake to cool completely before adding the syrup.
Preparing the Syrup
To prepare the syrup, place all the ingredients (sugar, water, glucose) in a saucepan. As soon as it reaches boiling point, add the vanilla.
Pour the hot syrup over the cold Revani to ensure it is absorbed perfectly.
